We offer two NRA Firearm Safety courses at various times.  Both fulfill the training requirements for CCW in Colorado. Note that we only issue NRA Training Certificates, we do not issue Concealed Carry permits.  Your county sheriff's office issues the permits.  They will require proof of training (the certificate), fingerprints, a criminal background check, and various additional fees.  If you are taking this class to fulfill the training requirements for the CCW, and you are not sure if you are otherwise eligible, you should check with your lawyer or county sheriff's office before taking the class.  We guarantee these classes will fulfill the training requirements, but we cannot guarantee you will be otherwise eligible for a permit.

Courses Offered

1. Basic Pistol.

• Coverage.
• Pistol knowledge and firearm safety. Selection of pistols and ammunition. Fundamentals of shooting, cleaning and storage of pistols. There is a written exam and a practical.
• This course is given in several formats over one or more days. It involves both classroom and firing range.  (Bring your firearm to the classroom and range, but absolutely NO LIVE AMMUNITION in the classroom.)  If time, ammunition and schedules permit, we will allow participants additional time to practice on the range after the class.

2. Personal Protection in the Home.

• Coverage
• Basic Pistol knowledge is assumed. Topics include defensive shooting; basic defensive handgun skills; strategies for home safety and responding to a violent confrontation, firearms and the law--possession, ownership and the use of deadly force; and selection of a handgun for self-defense.There is a written exam and a practical.
• The class is given over one and one-half days. The first day is in the classroom (bring your firearm but absolutely NO LIVE AMMUNITION in the classroom.) The second half-day will be spent on the firing range. If time, ammunition and schedules permit, we will allow participants additional time to practice on the range after the class.

(We reserve the right to limit attendance, and to cancel classes with low enrollment or facilities conflicts.)
